Can I just I'm totally excited about the new season of Power Rangers Megaforce. It's celebrating the series 20th anniversary. I can't believe that almost 20 years ago I started watching this show. I believe I was 11 years when it aired, I was a preteen, can't believe 20 years later I'm still here at the age of 30 watching this show!
As I stated before I had no idea that last year when I stepped back into the fandom I would be stepping into a whole another world.
The new season premiers Feb 2nd it's coming up soon...
My overly ambitious mind started writing a fan-fiction last summer based on how I thought the season would start. I thought of names and last names and the city which we thought was going to Angel Grove it's not going to be based there sadly. Anywho, I tried to write out how I thought the 1st episode would be. I based it around the 1st epic of the Tensou Sentai Goseiger series.
Episode #1 Mega Mission
Run MegaRed run
Fighting the pain coursing through his body he stood to his feet trying to figure out what happened and how he ended up face down on the ground. Troy leaned his body up against the craggy cave wall. He glanced around the dimly lit cave trying to figure out he ended up there. He pondered on what he should do next, he had no idea how ended up in this predicament. The last thing he could recall was running from some loogies with the rest of the Megaforce rangers inside this cave and then everything went blank from there.
“Maybe I can try reaching them with my millennium morpher,” he said grabbing the large embossed tiki-head from his back pocket.
“Guys, can you hear me? Anyone? Mega Black, Yellow, Pink, Blue? Guys?”
A wave of static from his millennium morpher echoed through the vicinity. Troy let out a long sigh. “This was no use,” he said placing his morpher back into his pocket.
“I don’t know what happened or why I can’t reach anyone but the longer I stand here doing nothing…” he said with a shudder.
Troy cautiously stepped away from the wall walking forward through the cave pathway.
“Mega red where are you?” a faint female voice called out.
He stopped dead in his tracks and quickly turned around and saw nothing as he squinted trying to find the source of the voice. “Hello? Is someone there?” he called out. He stood still wanting for some type of response. Lingering there alone in the darkness Troy’s labored breathing was the only source of sound that filled the air. He clutched his jacket closer to his body as a sudden chill sent shivers through his body.
( Epic 1 Mega MissionCollapse )
This is it for now...to be continued.

A lot has happened since my last post. I ended up turning down the fellowship to study in South Korea. I ended up getting a job at this Vietnamese restaurant courtesy of two good friends. I really love working less and making more money. My last job sucked balls, crappy job seriously crappy ass pay, I'm definitely much happier with the job I have now.
Much of my time which hasn't been devoted to working or spending time with friends, has been spent watching Power Rangers and Super Sentai series. Before I get to that my best friend and I attended the Space City convention a few weeks ago. OMG absolutely had a blast, it was a convention specifically aimed at comic-book lovers, science-fiction, and fantasy, gamer lovers. Totally different experience from the usual anime conventions I attend. People were actually polite and nice and the dealers were nice and not overbearing. They were're pressuring you to buy their items. I ran into some friends from last year's Ikkicon, the guys from Loyal King were there, and saw two other friends there too, well one of them just worked in the mall, she wasn't actually attending the convention. Seriously this convention centered around Power Rangers and Star Trek, well at least it seemed like that to us. They had a lot of prominent people there, Nichelle Nichols of Star Trek, some famous sci-fic writers and artists and some performers. For me the highlight of the convention was Jason David Frank AKA Tommy Oliver from PR.
OMG we attended his panel and it was really good. He talked about his life on PR, his career in the MMA, and life in the spotlight. I actually summoned up the nerve to ask him a question. I asked him about Tommy's onscreen relationship with Katherine. He responded with he didn't understand them getting together either and he mentioned that infamous letter that Kim sent to Tommy, and he said that they should have switched it up and paired Tommy with the blue ranger or something. The entire audience erupted in laughter and he said he was kidding, the funny thing was that there just happened to be a blue ranger sitting right in front of me. After the panel we hit up the dealer's room. Where I scored some nice Renaissance Faire swag for cheap. But the highlight for me was finally getting to meet JDF.
( Let the fangirling beginCollapse )
Besides work and indulging into PR and the Super Sentai series not much has been going on with me these days. Actually it has but save that for another post.
Thanks Shinobu_kokoro for listening^^

OMFG Power Rangers has taken over my life. For some reason a couple of months ago I started regressing back to my childhood.

So I decided to go back and start watching things that paid homage to the better times in my life. Power Rangers was apart of that. I decided to re-watch the series from the beginning. Little did I know what I was in for. I downloaded the 1st the seasons then I discovered that Netflix had all the past seasons available started watching it from there. I think what prompted me to start re-watching PR was the Samurai series that is currently airing on Nickelodeon. The Samurai series does play some homage to the original MMPR series particularly the music.
Watching something from childhood you definitely see things A LOT differently that's for sure. As of today so far I've watched over 400+ PR episodes. I've watched all 3 seasons of MMPR, ZEO, Turbo (which was very difficult to get through) In Space and I'm currently in the middle of Lost Galaxy. I have seen all of Dino Thunder and Ninja Storm and most of PR Samurai and Super Samurai courtesy of Nickelodeon. Totally smh at myself, seriously I never expected PR to consume my life but at the same time I'm really enjoying it for the most part.
( my deep but slightly hidden thoughtsCollapse )
My adventure back into PR franchise and I must admit that like McDonald's "I'm loving it" I'm just hoping to get my fics edited and up online soon. I have some good ideas for the Goseiger reboot that I'm writing so hoping to get up soon than later.

Wow it's been 8 months since I updated. My how times flies!
Since this I quit my shitty job back in March. Nothing can describe the freedom I felt leaving that place.
I attended 3 anime conventions in three different locations, attended the Renaissance 2 or 3 times once for Pirate weekend, and some other time can't remember *lol*
As for the anime conventions Oni-con was last October in Galveston. That con was awesome, we had this awesome hotel room that was overlooking the Galveston boardwalk, we were literally on the beach. My friends and I had a lot of fun there.
Next anime convention was Ikkicon 2011/2012. It was in Austin, Texas. OMFG I absolutely loved this con. It took place on the University of Austin Campus. The staff sucked but the con itself was great. I freaking love Austin, we booked a motel near 6th street. We finally got to go to 6th street, it was so much fun, walking around listening to all the music and the atmosphere was great. What put the icing on the cake so to speak was that I got meet Johnny Yong Bosch again, and we got to celebrate the New Years' with him and Eyeshine at the Rave. Then, I meant this really cute guy running a booth in the vendor's room. I bought a t-shirt from him, and after the rave I seen him and he kept commenting on how good it looked on me, totally flirting and I loved it. I spent a lot of time with before we left the con, he asked me to help him out at his booth. He asked if I could go to hangout with them but we had to head back home :(
It was all good. This so far has been one of favorite cons of all times.
Next anime convention was Anime Matsuri 2012 this past April. it was a local convention. Myself and two girlfriends stayed in a swangy hotel near the convention it was fun. I had a VIP badge which really didn't grant much benefit expect for a cool t-shirt and bag. Nonetheless, it was fun. We attended some panels, danced I meant another guy, not as cute as the guy from Ikkicon, but he was cool. It was his first con, he was a con virgin how cute. It was cool con the good thing is that it's local and we didn't have to drive far to get there.
This past May we went out to Freeport for a friend's birthday that was fun. I loved the beach so much and we a great time out there.
Since then I had been taking Korean classes and hanging out with some classmates from class. But other that I just have been looking for a job which has been a headache so to speak.
I'm enjoying life right now, or trying too at least of course working and making money is great but at the same time I do enjoy sleeping in and catching up on reading and Netflix.

I definitely need to do some serious venting! OMFG I HATE MY STINKING JOB! FML! Right now I don't need nor want to hear any bull shit about you should be happy to find a job. Like hell, my job is fucking modern-day slave labor at it's fining. The really sad thing is that they know that they can afford to pay us more for all the work we do...the thing that kills me the most about my job is the no benefits. Unlike ever other modernized country in the world, the great USof A does not offer health care to their citizens, which means that its up to us to find and get health care on our on. Sadly employers are not required to provide them either. Usually whenever companies don't offer health insurance it means you get paid more money so that you could go out and pay of it, but not so much the case on my job.
Case in point, over a week ago, I woke up extremely lethargic, itchy watery eyes, and stuffy nose and plugged up ears, so take medicine, still not feeling better, so mom suggests that I call in, I really didn't want to do so...but then again I thought everyone else calls in, and I really don't feel up to sweating and killing myself and getting yelled at today, call in tell them I wasn't feeling well, and they ask did you take medicine, yup sure did, and proceed to say okay see you next week...geez I couldn't even get a hope you feel better...
Decided to go to doctor....remember no health insurance so I'm footing the bill out my own squeezed pockets. Finally see doctor for less than 10 mins and head home and luckily meds were only $10. Go in back to work and they make me sign something saying why I was absent from work. SMH! I get wrote for calling in sick what the hell...
If I didn't give a damn about working on weekends and working for loser Walmart I would try and apply to be a greeter again...less work, more pay and at least after 90 days you get benefited.
SMH!
Of course the only people that understand are my co-workers and my mother who not only works there too, she is also working for loser Walmart too. Well one of my other friends understands too, she is being used and abused at her job as well. The really sad thing is that companies can do this cause they know that people need the work and the funds....so companies have essentially have the working public hands tied. We can pay you shit and treat you like shit on top of that cause we know you wouldn't quit because you need and want the money.
Way to go America! Shit on your hard working public that keep this too-shit cent worth of nothing country together!
Good job all you protesters marching on Wall Street and Bank of America...someone needs to make you feel the crunch of all they shit you caused and they way you treat your employees.
*sighs*
that felt great!
In other news still working on my Korean fan-fiction I've got 3 reviews for it thus far. I'm very happy to have gotten it started. Still watching Sailor Moon, now I'm on Sailor Moon S, so far my favorite season, Sailor Uranus is awesome, I love how all the Sailor Senshi have girl-crushes on her, and how she totally flirts back with them, I'm totally digging the Outer Senshi.
It's October so much is going on Renaissance Festival kicks off this month, so does K-fest and not to mention Oni-con anime convention as well...
Yup if it wasn't for all this I would kick my job to the curb for sure...but gotta have money for these things and my b-day is coming up gotta have money for my b-day as well.
Felt good releasing all that...need to meet up with...do some serious venting definitely think I'll be up for some drinks this weekend!

I decided to post up the prologue to my Wheesung fan-fiction...
"Choi Hweesung do you take Park Hyejin as your wedded wife…to have and to hold through sickness and health till death do you part?" asked the minister.
I peered cheerily into my future wife's pretty hazel eyes. She was certainly a beauty, with her long silky raven hair, petite frame, luscious cherry lips and a smooth milky complexion if one didn't know any better they would have thought of her as a younger version of the gorgeous actress Song Hyego as some would say. I smiled at my future wife but instead of smiling back she quickly turned away from me and peered at the marble floor. That was strange I thought to myself, nonetheless I continued on with his vows.
"I do!" I cheered happily as I slid the six carat ring onto my soon-wife-to-be's slender ring finger. Her hand was shaking, I shrugged it as her just being nervous, after all getting married as happy as the occasion can be it also can be extremely nerve-wracking. I certainly was nervous, standing there in front all of our friends and family pledging our eternal love for one another.
"Hyejin…do you accept Choi Hweesung as your husband…to have and to hold through sickness and health till death do you part?"
One of the best men held out the ring pillow and placing within Hyejin's grasp. She remained still and I felt her hand shaking. I couldn't understand why in the world she was hesitating, after-all this had been the moment that they both had been anticipating for the past two and half years.
"Hyejin." I whispered.
Hyejin peered into the minister's eyes, there seemed to be a look of terror in her expression. She turned and stared at the rows of people who too were seemingly anticipating her decision.
"Park…Hyejin…please what's the matter?" whispered the minister officiating our nuptials.
"Oppa…I'm sorry…but I can't do this!" she cried dropping her grip on my hands.

There has been so much going on with me these days...
I finally found a job, a not so great minimum-wage job that expects you to do the work of three people, with no benefits whatsoever. But, the few good things about the job is I usually only work about 5 1/2 hours a day, holidays and weekends off, definitely one of the very few perks of working for a school district...the really odd thing is that I was more excited about having a job so I could go to the upcoming Renaissance festival and the anime convention and the Korean cultural festival next month.
Let's see in June I spent some time with some friends at the beach at one of our friends' timeshare, it was really awesome having our own private beach. In July got to spend some more time at my friend's other local timeshare...that was really nice getting away from the suburbs and spending time with friends before everyone headed back to work.
I finished up another session of Korean classes this past July, made a few new friends in there, which is really cool they joined the Korean-American society with me so now I have friends to go there with now.
I reluctantly haven't been able to watch Dr. Who or Torchwood cause our netflix has been cancelled, hopefully I can save up enough to pay for it, I have been craving some Torchwood. I have been on this I-love-and-want-everything-British these days. I even found a store near my house that sells imported goodies from Britain. I stopped by there this weekend and picked up a few goodies. I picked up some ginger beer, crumpets, Worcester crisps not sure what made me pick Worcester, and some spotted dick steamed pudding, that's the actual name "spotted dick" I know I'm being juvenile but I couldn't resist the name so I bought it. The ginger beer was a little too sweet but good, my alcoholic loving brother took the other beer but I think he enjoyed, he liked the ginger one too. I have yet to try the crumpets or steamed pudding will soon!
So, funny I wasn't actually looking for a British store, I mean how random would that have been, but I came across the store while searching google maps for another business that was located in the same shopping strip. I was quite surprised to find a store as such in my area, and the British store is actually more of an on-line store most people order items from on-line, and the best part the clerk was british and he called me "love" he was hella nice...
I love Korean culture by all means but I think exploring British culture will be my next culture to explore. In fact been looking into British universities, for my master's. Unlike American universities Britain universities offer one-year post-graduate taught master's...basically cuts out all the unnecessary research and gets to the nitty-gritty for those who want to advance their education w/o the need to go to school for 2+ years and w/o going into tons of unnecessary research. American universities need to jump on this, that's one of the reasons why I dropped out the master's program I was in Los Angeles, their program was crappy and didn't allow time for the student's to engage in internships or work within the field, it was all research-based, that shit is fine if your going for a PhD...but not for folks like me who want real-working jobs skills and it seemed like universities in Britain do just that.
Besides how freaking cool would it be to live in Britain...totally amazing I would think. I have gotten Prospectus' from two uni in Britain one for a school in London and the other in Sheffield. The one in Sheffield is looking the most promising at the moment. Now, that I'm working I'm hoping maybe to save money and possibly visit there.
Besides planning for school next year...I have been updating my fan-fictions, including the one I wanted to write about Wheesung. I found a great beta-reader for my Rurouni Kenshin fiction, that person is a huge fan just like myself, and I need to find one for my Inuyasha fiction. I had one person message me and ask me when I was going to finish it. There a demand for me to finish it, which is great because it forces me to get back to writing. Also, I uploaded the prologue to my Wheesung fiction, and I've had three people favorite it already. Which makes me really happy, it definitely encourages me to write more.
Also, since I haven't been able to watch my shows from netflix, I have been watching Sailor moon, I got all 200 episodes and I have been delightfully indulging Sailor moon, not the bastardized English dub, the subbed version and I must say it has almost been like watching a completely different series...totally different from the Sailor Moon I watched as a kid. I have been really enjoying Sailor Moon, more so than I expected. I've been getting into some older anime as well.
Fist of the North Star, Card Captor Sakura, Jing King of Bandits, Magic Knight Rayearth, and some older 80's and 70's anime which by the way are hella hard to find Project A-ko, the Dirty Pair, Green Legend Ran, Captain Tsubasa, Galaxy Express 999, Babel Niesi just to name a few...be getting into these cause I wanted to have a classic anime weekend with friends, were we just watch nothing but old school anime.
That's about all I have been up too these days...Korean class starts this week and I managed to get into lvl 3 not too sure how through but its all good. I'm just happy to start class again, and to be making some dinero. Oh right forgot to mention that I have been reading more this summer, I finish the first Twilight book, I didn't hate or love it, I was very neutral about it, and I picked up Game of Thrones and have yet to read it, I need to read it first before I watch the show...cause I've been told that the show is really awesome! I plan on reading the next twilight book, why simply because once I start something I really want to finish it, and for as much as I hated on Twilight I didn't think it was terrible, still subpar compared to Harry Potter though *lol* Harry Potter will always have and hold a special place in my little black heart.
I need to get ready for bed...got work to go to in the morning my long weekend has sadly come to an end!
Till next time^^
I finally found a job, a not so great minimum-wage job that expects you to do the work of three people, with no benefits whatsoever.

Describe the best day you’ve ever had. What made it so good?
Fulfilling my dream of going to Italy.
I got to go to travel with to Italy via a studying abroad program at my university. It was rainy and foggy when we stepped off the plane and stepped into the streets of Rome but damn nothing can describe the feelings of being in a country of such lush, rich history. It was breathtaking in every sense. Spent two weeks there it was one of the best moments of my life^^

I think that I'm still reveling in the glorious Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Pt 2 light! I went to the midnight preview with some friends, and albeit all the drama and heat and sweat it was all worthwhile seeing in the XD 3D.
There was so much drama, we were suppose to camp-out outside the movie theater this past Wednesday...but the theater tells us hell no, and you cannot camp-out on our properties. Most of their reasoning was due in part to the heat, and that they didn't want to be liable if some of us were to pass-out from heat strokes or something on their property, which I totally understand that, cause the temp was almost 100 F outside, I understand but damn they should have told us that ahead of time...

Goodness, there were tons of HP fans at the theater waiting to, and they made us wait till 6pm to wait in line for HP, and to top this off on the day of the midnight premier, the theater we were at was across the street from a main intersection so if you're not paying attention there was a chance of getting hit by a car(s).
All madness broke lose when they said we could wait in line, and all these people rushed across the street to get in line only to be told that we would still have to go back and wait in line on the outside of the theater. Geez, so we alone with the 6 or so other lines for HP sat outside for the next 5 1/2 hours in the heat in line waiting for HP...
Some other things went down...at one point I was so pissed the fuck off at something that was said to me that I wanted to leave. My love for HP and the fact that I had been waiting there and I bought two tickets is what made me stay there...
Finally around 11pm they finally let us waiting for the 3D showing inside...it was really nice to finally go inside and feel the a/c. So, we got our 3D glasses and found decent seats inside the theater...
30+ mins later the movie begins...
2 1/2+ hours later around 3am the movie ends...
So many cheers and jeers and tears from many of the moviegoers including myself! Such a great ending to a wonderful well-written series.
I really cannot express how much I appreciated how much of the story-line they kept in the movie. It was as if I were visually seeing everything I read in the novel with a few exceptions the film was executed quite beautifully. I only cringed at the one part with the giant spiders I had totally forgotten about them too...but that was the only cringe-worthy part for me.
Deathly Hallows definitely 5 stars from me, the acting, the scenes, the characters, and the music and the story-line were flawless done. Major props to David Yates!
I just realized that I come off as a crazy-obsessed, die-hard HP fan that has been following the series for the past ten years but that's actually not the case.
I never took notice or cared for HP prior to December 2010. I really never gave much thought to HP, and I would see it on the telly and shrug it off and heard friends talk about it but still never gave much thought to it...until one day I was at the movies with some friends and I seen the card-board cut-out of Harry, and Ron and Hermione and some friends started talking about them and the Deathly Hallows pt 1 and I was thinking damn am I like the only one that hasn't read or seen HP...
So I went home and found the books online and on Christmas day began reading HP. I think I finished Philosopher's Stone that evening I believe. I was instantly hooked and remembered that a friend of mines had loaned me the movies and watched the 1st movie. So, my HP fandom took off from there...
HP really helped me get through all that shit that I went through during grad school, and my shitty druggy roommate drama in LA. I would just sit and read HP for hours at a time to get my mind off of all the drama. It was a great distraction.
I finished reading Deathly Hallows around June, and I watched the Deathly Hallows part 1 a few weeks later. Took me about 6 1/2 months to finish the entire HP series *lol* I currently own all the novels the adult-British Editions and the 1st three American HP hardcovers books, and I own all the HP movies, 3 of which are on blu-ray. Yes, I'm totally bragging something I don't do too often but I think I have come a long way from being a total noob to HP to someone who has seen and read everything within less than a year.
I can't imagine how tough it was for people to wait for the novels to come out...I know it must have sucked so much but I think that's the best part the anticipation then again I love anticipation and suspense and I know it can be too much for some people. Quite honestly HP is definitely a series that I feel goes hand in hand with the movies and the novels. I totally would have never seen the movies w/o seeing the reading the novels first. The movies are great but there the novels as with most is always better. The HP movies have often-times left-out key characters and plot-points that you would only know from reading the novels.
Some have said they got burned out on the books and/or they were tired of waiting for the novels to come out. My take on it is that many of the great things in life are worth waiting for it and HP totally seemed to fit this theory. *shrugs* People these days are into novelty and being entertained without having to think...and I think many people just don't care or bother to read cause HP as the series progresses does get very dark and heavy in content and the novels do get longer with the 5th book "Order of the Phoenix" being the longest (almost 1000 pages...and the label it a children's novel go-figure) people just want to be entertained and not worry about the story-line or the characters or how these and that happened just simply want to be entertained.
Which is totally fine by all means...
I'm glad I got over myself and my bias of HP! I learned so much cultural and societal things about British culture from HP not to mention having a completely different understanding of the British English. Goodness it took me till Deathly Hallows to figure out that "trainers" simply meant "tennis shoes." On top of that I have divulged into the world of BBC.
OMFG I freaking love the BBC. Currently I started watching Dr. Who, then I moved on to Torchwood which I freaking love, love, love! I watched this British drama series called "Lady Chatterley" and this other British movie "Shanks" I think was the name and I have tons of other British dramas on the netflix to watch list...I really love their period pieces I want to finish watching "Anne Frank" which I will soon. My friend told me about Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and that those two did a comedy stretch show...I literally flipped my wig Stephen Fry is amazing...I felt in love with his voice as he is the one that narrators the HP series, and Hugh Laurie is the guy that plays "House" from one of my favorite American dramas. Damn those two together almost too much *lol* Will be watching that soon!
I have such love and admiration for Britain that recently I started researching universities in London. Surprisingly the American Government provides aid to many universities in London. I want to finish my Master's degree and hopefully by the grace of GOD I will be able to do it in the U.K. sometime next year. *start praying now*
This is what and where getting into HP has lead me too...a fondness and a passion for British culture and this drive now to go there and study and live and breathe their culture! Hopefully I will come back with some good news about getting a London university I picked out a school and I will definitely keep you updated.
That's my adventure and sadness over the ending of the HP series!
Oh I forgot I did register for Pottermore so I'm hoping I will be one of the first people picked to be registered for the new site.
My HP collection...
